Cosmetic Crowns

These teeth were discolored from trauma and root canal therapy. Color this deep could not be corrected with whitening. Crowns provided an excellent solution.

Severe Tooth Discoloration from Root Canal Therapy

How does it work?

The teeth are reduced to make space for a cap, the crown, to cover over the entire tooth like a protective shell. The crown is made custom to fit over the reduced tooth and is cemented on. Crowns in the front teeth are typically ceramic for optimal esthetics.

Crowns did a great job masking the discolored natural teeth. These were made just slightly light so the patient has a little room to whiten. Remember that the color of crowns will not be changed by tooth-whitening procedures.
